Tax Evasion Attempts

Born Trevor Taheim Smith Jr., this old school hip hop artist took on the screen name of Busta Rhymes. His troubles with tax issues started back in 2008. Reports suggest that he has been evading IRS authorities and has not paid his taxes for quite a few years now. He owes the IRS a stunning $1 million in back taxes today!

What makes him even more of a fool and also a hypocrite is that his liberal leanings lead to higher taxes and a greedy IRS.

This is What You Deserve Busta

His first tax lien, dated in 2008, was for a total of $611,000 for that particular tax year. In 2012, he was slapped with another tax lien, this time for the year 2012. Totaling to $178,000, his tax bills have only added up. The 42 year old rap artist has been raking in the money but has been negligent when it comes to paying his tax bills. Both the tax debts add up to a substantial $789,578 and the amount balloons up when you factor in the interest that he will have to pay.

But this is not as bad as being a hypocrite!

Brush with the Law

Busta Rhymes is in no way a newbie when it comes to being a perpetrator in the eyes of the law. This tax evasion issue stands in line behind several other cases against him that include several assault charges and weapons possession. Rhymes has been busting out rap songs since the 1980s and his current estimated net worth comes in at around $20 million. Uncle Sam has been paying attention to all these little details and now it is time for Rhymes to cough up the dough and give what is due in taxes.

Do not worry Busta, your money will be wasted just like the rest ours is! GM, how about that payback! Obamacare, your website is a joke and does not work!

He’s got Company

Busta Rhymes is not alone. In fact, he has joined the ranks of many rappers who have failed to pay tax and have received tax liens in return. MC Hammer owes the IRS almost $1.4 million in tax debts. The king of the tax evading rappers is a title that goes to none other than Lil Wayne. Wayne owes the IRS a whopping $12 million in taxes! This New Orleans rapper failed to pay $5 million in tax in 2011 and an even bigger amount $6 million in 2012. He also owed $7 million in back taxes for the year 2008-2009 but it has been reported that he has cleared this amount since then. Other names to add to the list are Lauryn Hill and Fat Joe.

Pay your taxes you high tax socialist rappers! Just like John Kerry, you are all hypocrites! Kerry, put your yacht in Massachusettes and pay that yacht tax – do not park it in Rhode Island!

Rhymes has not released a statement regarding the tax liens and it looks like the tax authorities have “got him all in check”. The Department of Treasury is relentless when it comes to collecting taxes because they have to keep up with all those entitlements they have promised millions of lazy Americans and with a prior lien, Busta Rhymes should have known better. He should be all in favor of paying those taxes; he knows he has food stamp friends and family members.
